Stimulation and monitoring
At this stage, medication like pills and injections are used to stimulate the growth of follicles, it will be then monitored with blood hormone monitoring and vaginal ultrasound.
Ovum retrieval
When the follicles are matured then the woman is given anaesthesia for the surgery to retrieve the eggs. The process only takes 10-20 min and eggs are collected for further IVF process.
Sperm collection
The Semen sample is taken from the male partner. In the surgery a needle is used to insert the testicle and sperm are collected, anesthesia is used.
Embryo transfer
The ovum and sperm are fertilized in the laboratory and are monitored by the embryologist. The fertilized embryo(eggs) is then transferred to the uterus for further development.
Post fertilization care
After the transfer of the embryo to the uterus doctor prescribes some follow-up steps and medication to increase the chance of pregnancy. After 2 weeks pregnancy test is done to confirm pregnancy.
